WASTE, FRAUD AND CRONYISM, OH MY!

Ever since Hurricane Katrina conducted an "Extreme Makeover" on New Orleans and the surrounding Gulf Coast, Corporate-Porkers
(aka: the Have-More's, aka: Bush's Base)
have been snorfelling smugly. And the cacophony emanating from all those cloven hooves jostling about has been positively deafening.

But, unfortunately for the administration, the din has not been so great as to drown out a growing chorus of angry and indignant voters.

As American families struggle more each month just to stay even, Exxon/Mobil has posted record profits for the last three quarters. And as the number of American GI's Killed in action in Iraq over the last year doubled, so too has the price of Halliburton stock.

Has anyone else noticed that while the vast majority of the American People get to suffer "The Storm", Mr. Bush and his pals cash in on "The Silver Lining"?

$200 Billion pledged thus far to repair the damage wrought by Lady Katrina. That's $200 Billion that will be handed out to Mr. Bush's Corporate pals, by way of the Beltway's very own Bad Boy,
Karl "It's not Treason until you're Convicted" Rove.

If Justice is to be served regarding the Plame matter, Mr. Rove will be conducting the government's business from the Spartan comfort of a Federal Prison. Though this might prove inconvenient for the beneficiaries of this massive government largesse, I'm sure arrangements will be be made.

To add insult to catastrophic injury, New Orleans' levees could have been repaired and reinforced in the five years preceding Katrina, for a small fraction of that $200 Billion (which, in reality, will probably end up being four or five times that amount when all is said and done.)

And then there's THIS example of Waste on a Colossal Scale.

$300 Billion spent on the Iraq invasion/occupation, and climbing daily. No end in sight. An arrogant and incompetent administration determined to "Stay the Course" despite the preference of 2/3 of the citizens. An exploding deficit, a crumbling infrastructure, skyrocketing energy costs, a country more divided than at any time in Her history, A country with few allies and many, many enemies.

This is George W. Bush's legacy. Greed, Ineptitude and Failure.
