So, it turns out Marge's sister, Patti, is gay. And I gotta ask: How predictable was that? Now don't get me wrong here, I LOVE The Simpsons; some of the most consistently intelligent, and downright irreverent humor on TV. But......IMHO It would have been SO much funnier (not to mention controversial) had the producers/writers "outted" Ned Flanders instead. I was so hoping Big Matt was gonna take a swipe at the Christian Right hypocrites, but, oh well. .......Now that The Simpsons has aired, the odds-makers have turned their attention to more heady topics. Like who's NEXT on Gee-Dubya's "Regime Change" Hit List? Will it be Iran or Syria? (....I'll take Syria for Five-Hundred, Bob.) Smart money's on Syria.... for a coupla reasons. First -Syria is a much weaker target than Iran, and Second -Once Syria is "pacified," Iraqi OIL will be able to be piped through Syria, and off-loaded at Israeli ports. (Of course those miles of pipeline will have to be defended.... and constantly repaired.... but that's another matter entirely). So, like I said, Smart Money's on Syria... to get whacked FIRST. Because, don't get me wrong, Iran is most definitely in Bushco's cross-hairs. Let there be no mistake in that.
