"IN HALLIBURTON WE TRUST"

 

Something in the air these days has me perpetually on edge.

It's like a Psychic Thunder-storm passing overhead that fills the environment with electricity. It's black-bellied clouds rolling Eastward from the horizon, accompanied by a deathly still wind. It's awakening from a surreal nightmare, and not immediately recognizing the reality of the space I fell asleep in. It's a vibrating unease, a feeling that the worst is yet to come. And no matter what I do to try and take my mind off of it, the lack of ease never really dissipates. In fact, the feeling seems to grow in intensity daily.

Is it just me, or do you feel it too?

America, which was once a beacon of hope for the struggling masses, has degenerated over the last four years into a Terrorist State. We have abused our allies, and bullied much of the rest of the planet. The illegal and unneccessary invasion and occupation of Iraq has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians, and the maiming of many thousands more.

America, under the "leadership" of George W. Bush, has disavowed the Geneva Conventions, and eviscerated The Bill of Rights.

During the campaign, Mr. Bush kept assuring us that "America is Safer." I, for one, don't buy it. Just becuase we haven't been attacked since 9/11/01, doesn't mean we're safer. And Mr. Bush's argument for invading Iraq, "We're gonna fight the terrists there so we don't have to fight 'em here," also rings hollow.

What kind of logic is that anyway?

Actually it's Illogic. It's just clever sound-bytes manufactured to put the citizenry at ease.

But I'm not at ease. I haven't been able to take a relaxed breath since just before the invasion. And even though the Happy-Speak Sound-Bytes are repeated ad nauseum over the Official Government-approved News Channels, I just can't seem to get with the program. I keep waiting for "that other shoe...."

My greatest fear is that we will be attacked again, and soon.

And immediately following an attack, Mr. Bush will suspend the Constitution and declare martial law. Then the draft will be reinstated faster than you can say "hacked election", and all forms of dissent will be criminalized as "giving aid and comfort to our enemies."

The re-education camps will begin to fill up, providing employment for thousands of the intellectually challenged. Those camps are gonna need a whole lotta guards and various administrative personnel. And you better believe there's gonna be a lotta camps.

I can feel it comin', and it's movin' fast.

-It's already begun.

The dollar is at an all-time low against the Euro. Gas prices are at an all-time high. Inflationary trends are already appearing at the supermarket. The economy is about to take a serious dump, and a lot of people are going to get hurt.

Our Free Press has been co-opted by the Powers-That-Be. Our votes are counted by machines with "proprietary software", manufactured by wealthy GOP operatives. More than half of the machines leave no paper trail, and therefore cannot be verified.
