12/19/05So, have you heard about the Levin-Graham Amendment which is attached to the McCain Anti-torture Amendment? No? Well I'm not at all surprised. Who has time to keep up with all the scandals and investigations. It's enough to give one vertigo.I mean, how much more effrontery are we going to take? It's not bad enough that American "Values" have expanded to include the use of "Extreme Interrogation Techniques", a Bushwellian euphemism that translates simply to TORTURE.The administration would have us believe that Torture is what they define it as... and they define it rather narrowly... "If it don't kill ya, it ain't torture. But Senator John McCain raised a furor over the Torture "policy", and Mr. Bush was forced to retreat from his veto threat. But while McCain's back was turned, Senators Levin and Graham attached a separate amendment to the Defense Appropriations Bill that, in effect, gutted McCain's anti-torture amendment. Levin and Graham managed this evil feat by creating a law that would make evidence gathered through the use of torture, admissable in a court of Law. Pretty slick, huh?.... er, I mean sick.Conditions in America are deteriorating at an ever-alarming rate, and we continue to accept it. The Padilla Case wasn't bad enough to gain the common man's attention. That Mr. Bush asserts he has the Constitutional Authority to order an American citizen arrested and detained indefinitely, without charge, isn't heinous enough. But perhaps now that we have Mr. Bush publicly admitting he bypassed the FISA court, and ordered the NSA to conduct domestic surveillance on innocent American citizens.... and fully intends to continue doing so, folks might finally begin to sit up and take notice. I mean, we are talking about felonious behavior on the part of the president here. But what's really kinda scary is Mr. Bush stubbornly insists that the president, as Commander-In-Chief, has the authority to circumvent ANY law at ANY time. In simpler terms, Laws don't apply to "The President".Well alright then. Let's examine the situation beneath the surface.George W. Bush has a complicated and multi-faceted pathology. He has stated on many occasions that "God talks to him". The psychological term for such utterances is "delusional", and in George Jr's case you have the poster boy for Delusions of Grandeur.George also suffers an Addictive Personality disorder. It doesn't matter if it's cocaine or Jack Daniels, cheesecake or excessive excercise, addictive behavior manifests itself in many ways. Personally, I think Mr. Bush is back on the sauce. I'm also pretty sure he's snorting Xanex or something similar. "Tis pretty obvious whenever he speaks....And what's with all that jaw action??? Anyone have a theory?
Prediction of the week- Karl Rove gets indicted by weeks end.
